Six years ago I embraced Islam either not in a Mosque or any Da’wah centre but secretly in a Muslim brother’s residence. Unfortunately the said brother is no more. (Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un) Now I feel the struggle which he underwent to the cause of dawah. (dawah to non Muslims) Unlike today there were problems in the field. But he could not do anything since he was a powerful member one of Islamic movement in Sri Lanka. This may due to misunderstanding. Among the particulars for this program are Divisional secretary, Grama niladhari administrator, Ayurvedict Doctors of the area, Members of the settlement committee and staff of the Divisional secretary office. When we look at the seera of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) we find He (PBUH) had used so many various da’wah methods. Even at present we could apply the same. According to this as a first step we adopt a method of find a path to the people who are in thirst to find what is Islam. Although in Sri Lanka it is a bit difficult task to do da’wah in public.
