Assamalu Alaikum my brother, my sister,
We live in joyous days. We are at the dawn of 2010 Ramadan fasting days. There is hardly any Muslim I know who doesn’t feel elated to welcome Ramadan fasting. Inshallah Muslims throughout the world are beginning the obligatory Ramadan fasting in the next few days. The specific day may be a day or two different according to your place and country. But the intention is the same. Obeying Allah subahanahut-thala and performing a great act for Allah’s sake.
Brother Shiraz has already written a beautiful article here about Ramadan 2010 around the corner. But along with a poster about Ramadhan fasting, I’d like to publish these thoughts too.
We as Muslims know how to fast and what to do and what not to do when fasting. However as humans we error and tend to forget. My brothers and sisters in this 2010 Ramadan let us take some little breaks from our busy lives from time to time everyday and remind ourselves about how Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihiwasalam performed the Ramadan fasting. Let’s imitate his Sunnah acts and deeds as best we can. Indeed my brothers and sisters, after we have uttered the sacred words of the kalima and become a Muslim, is there anyone more worthy of imitating than the last messenger of Allah? He is our role model. He is our superstar. He is our guide. Lets follow in his footsteps.
Ramadan kareem to you my brother and sister.
I leave you with a poster I came across in a nice blog which conveys the halal and haram acts during Ramadan fasting in a creative way.
